A two-colour, 58 page, Risograph printed, wire-bound book by Studio 3AM
Technology has long been a transformative force in creative industries. Graphic design, once an analog trade requiring intricate manual and clerical skills, has evolved dramatically. The integration of digital technologies into creative practices has pushed the boundaries of possibility since the widespread adoption of computers in the ‘90s. However, generative AI now poses unique questions about the role of technology in creative practices. It also challenges how individuals and organizations, both within and outside industry, value human creativity.
By reinterpreting AI-generated ‘poetry’ through bespoke pixel-based artworks printed via risograph, Echoes of the Algorithm directly engages with generative AI to explore the relationship between technology and creativity. It prompts us to consider: Do AI-generated outputs have inherent value? Or are they merely echoes of creativity, reflected back to us by algorithms? As generative AI becomes commonplace, how does the value of human creativity change?
